Kim King

Kim King was born and raised in Montpelier, OH and moved to Charlotte, NC in 2012 to pursue a career in Art Education. She worked for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools for a total of 8 years teaching K-2 Art and High School Ceramics. She resigned from teaching in 2021 and is currently a full-time ceramic artist with her own pottery studio: King Pottery Studio located in Indian Trail, NC, and is an owner/kids instructor for Art of Motion Jiu Jitsu.

Her love for martial arts came from her husband and instructor at Art of Motion, Aaron, when they first started dating in 2016. She took her first Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu class in October of 2016 and hasn’t stopped since. Kim was promoted by her husband, Aaron, to Brown Belt on September 30th, 2023, and is the head instructor for the 4-6-year-old and 6-13-year-old Jiu Jitsu at Art of Motion. She has a passion for teaching and loves to see students succeed and gain the confidence that all young people need.

She has completed multiple marathons, 2 half-ironmans, a 50k ultra run, and a 50-mile ultra run. You can find her on the mats, on the trails, or covered in clay at her pottery studio.
